NHS England Call for Evidence: Modern Service Framework for Frailty and Dementia Summary

Posted On: Tuesday 28th April 2026

Summary

NHS England is seeking evidence on interventions and service models for frailty and dementia to inform a new national Modern Service Framework.

Full Story

We have been asked by NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) to share an important update regarding the development of a new Modern Service Framework (MSF) for Frailty and Dementia.

As part of this initiative, they are launching a national call for evidence, and we would appreciate your help in ensuring our profession is well-represented.

What NHS England is looking for:

  • Submit evidence: They are seeking interventions that improve patient outcomes, quality of care, or general health and care performance.

  • Share the survey: Please pass this along to your clinical networks and colleagues so they can gather a broad range of best practice examples.

Submission Focus: NHS England is encouraging submissions that cover:

  • People of any age living with frailty or dementia (including all subtypes and mild cognitive impairment).

  • Support for unpaid carers.

  • Specific parts of the frailty/dementia pathway or the pathway in its entirety.

  • Services within ICB, LA, and VCSE commissioning remits.

They are interested in both broad service transformations and specific clinical or digital interventions, ranging from established programs to early-stage pilots.

How to contribute: If you have expertise or interventions to share, please complete the survey here: [Frailty and Dementia Evidence Gathering Exercise – Fill in form].

  • Note: If you wish to submit more than one intervention, please complete a separate form for each.

  • Deadline: Submissions must be received by 17:00 on Friday, 8th May.

Thank you for taking the time to contribute. Your expertise is essential to ensure the vital role of AHPs and specialists is clearly represented in this new framework.
